It took me a little bit longer to get here than I expected but I finally made it. 800 posts. And oddly enough this particular one happened to hit on my birthday. Interesting timing there. I also find it interesting that during my three month “break” my blog stats have actually increased more than when I was posting regularly. So thanks for that :). Hopefully the trend will continue now that I’ve started posting again.

Just like everyone else, this year has been just a little strange for me. There have been quite a few ups and downs. Well, more downs than ups but we’ll try to stick with the optimism right? If you need a boost I have a page of SQL puzzles, odd (strange) bits of code, and just straight out fun stuff that I’ve written over the years.

So far this year I’ve blogged 59 times (which may seem like a lot for mid October but usually I’m close to 90 by now) and y’all have visited somewhere around 370k times (which is very slightly less than normal, but hey, it’s 2020 so I’m counting it as a win). I’m only going to have spoken once this year (PASS Summit for the 3rd year in a row?!?) but again, it’s 2020.

I know this is a difficult year for everyone but I hope all of y’all are managing to take joy in all of the positive milestones in your life.
